Ways to journal
So, you have your journal & the right pen or pencil. This means that, when you are ready, you can get started…
Here are a few ideas for adding to your journal:
_
Just writing
The simplest form of a diary or journal is just to have words on paper & there is nothing wrong with that.

_
Sewing & Sticking
Some would argue that no journal set is really complete without glue, sticky tape (preferably double-sided), sticky tack, staples & a needle & thread…

_
Draw & sketch (even if you think you can’t)
This is your safe space to try things, after all… I even had a go:

Dealing with mistakes
I’m all for owning errors & mistakes (take a look at the About section of this website & how I’ve misspelled journaling on a website about journaling!) but there are things that can be done to deal with them…
stick something right over the top – I have even made ‘plasters’ out of double sided tape & the same kind of paper to cover individual words or small areas!
make it a feature – there’s a lot to be said for the Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi; the beauty of imperfection or incompleteness
correct it as best you can – at school so many of us were taught that a neat ruler line over an error, or some carefully applied tip-ex, were the best way forward…
remove that page (if you absolutely have to) – although this does feel like a last resort, it is certainly possible
